LAND OF THE GIANTS – Elephant back Safari and Rhino Encounter
Probably Shearwater’s best value and most popular safari activity combines an Elephant Back safari with a Big Five Game Drive where the emphasis is on tracking the Black Rhino.
The Reserve:
The 4,000 hectare Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve was established in 1996 and was founded on the conservation vision of the property’s owner and Rani Africa founder, Sheik Adel Aujan. With assistance from Shearwater, who operate the safari activities on the Reserve in partnership with Rani Africa, this pristine property has been transformed into a diversity-rich wildlife conservation area – home to the Big Five and host to several flagship conservation programs including The Black Rhino Breeding Programme (three calves born to date!), The Painted Dog Release Programme operated by Painted Dog Conservation and the Anti-poaching Training Academy operated by The International Anti-Poaching fund.
